FAQ’s

How do you make hot chocolate thicker?
To make your hot chocolate thicker, try adding thickened or double cream to the mixture for an extra smooth, creamy consistency. You can also add a little cornflour to a tablespoon of milk to make a paste, whisking this into your hot chocolate mixture on the stove until it thickens.

Why is hot chocolate in Europe so thick?
Hot chocolate in Europe tends to be thicker as it’s usually made on cream and chocolate which both have a high fat content. These ingredients give it a smoother and thicker quality. European hot chocolate is also topped with whipped cream that melts into the hot chocolate, giving it an even richer texture.

Why is European hot chocolate creamier?
European hot chocolate has a much creamier texture than some hot chocolates, especially those made with water and chocolate powder, as the base mixture contains cream. If you’d like to make your own creamy hot chocolate as a delicious dessert or sweet snack, make sure to keep the water content to a minimum.
